| Mel A. Monk, P.E, Executive Director
Mel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science of Civil Engineering Degree. He attended George W. Long High School in Skipperville, Alabama and was Valedictorian of his class. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama. Prior to coming to the Association Mel was with The Alabama Department of Transportation in Mobile since 1992. During that time Mel was in charge of all aspects of construction including, asphalt plants, concrete plants, and pavement design. He also served as Division Hazardous Materials Coordinator. Sherry A. Wood, Office Manager
Sherry has been the office manager since May 1997. She is responsible for the day to day management of the office. Among her duties is the general office administration, web site maintenance and organization of Association's activities. Prior to working with the Association, she worked in the Construction Industry for three years and with the Alabama Propane Gas Association for six years as the Executive Assistant. Sherry was born in Montgomery and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1983 and attended Troy State University in Montgomery. She is married to Tim Wood and they have three children: Megan, Chadd, and Rae. Sherry is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). |
