| The Association's hot mix asphalt contractors members are second to none in their paving expertise and knowledge. Each year the contractors submit paving projects for quality in construction award consideration. The projects are evaluated by joint committee formed from representatives from the Alabama Department of Transportation, the National Center for Asphalt Technology, and the Asphalt Institute.After the intensive evaluation, the very best projects in a variety of award classes will be presented at the Quality Pavement Awards at the Association's Officer Installation Luncheon and Pavement Awards Ceremony on December 12, 2008, TBA, Montgomery, Alabama.Pavement award categories are:Multi-Lane Highway Resurfacing (15,000 tons to 50,000 tons)Multi-Lane Highway Resurfacing (Greater than 50,000 tons)Two-Lane Highway Resurfacing (10,000 tons to 50,000 tons)Two-Lane Highway Resurfacing (Greater than 50,000 tons) New Construction/Reconstruction (15,000 tons to 50,000 tons) New Construction/Reconstruction (Greater than 50,000 tons) Airports Parking Lots/Commercial Facilities Special Projects
